0-5 start and recover to play finals.

Post by rd »

Just wondering...

Norwood began 2025 by losing their first 5 games and then rallied to qualify for the major round and then won a final.

Ever been done before in the history of the SANFL?

Making finals from 0-5 yes, several times.

Winning a final after starting 0-5 though? I feel like it has happened but can't recall specifically.

In 1934 the Bays were 0-4-1 after 5 games. They not only made the finals but won a couple too. ;)

Can we update the original question to now ask "Has a team ever started a season with a 0-5 record and then qualified to play finals and win at least 2 finals matches like Norwood has done in 2025?"
