Go You Aussies!

Post by therisingblues »

Again it has come down to our first, last and only chance to qualify for the World Cup.
A very familiar situation, I hope that we can buck the system this time and finally make it through.
Wish I was in Australia to watch it with my fellow countrymen, but maybe my "overseas" support will be what helps us win it this time!
I'm gonna sit back, crack the top off a Pale Ale, and watch the Double Blues prevail

Scared about how big it could become in this country?

How big it could get, pffft, with an 8 team comp and 1 of them from New Zealand?

This [i]is soccers last chance in Australia to have a viable national comp, time will tell, but methinks the fickle fairweather supporters of the code are on board at the moment, but, for how long?
If you want to go quickly, go alone.

with an 8 team comp, was footy at its peak in SA not only a 10 team comp?
1 team per State, (ex NSW) is an excellent way to go, better than the way the afl has done it and having 10 teams within an hour of each other.
there was heps of intrest in this country for the World Cup in 2002, if Australia was in, it would have been huge, then you have alot of new followers from the new A-Leauge.
If Australia do enough to Qualify tonight, the A-Leauge will start getting 30 000+ to some games.

Yeah mate, bloody terrified*. I went to a dozen soccer games...I saw a goal once. Why do you think the fans pound the tripe out of each other. Pretend rock musicians and pretend sports..you really are a worry son.
