Port Noarlunga "Coffee Factory Café" nice place and good coffee but you need to be a bit of a hippie .

Or I can buy you one Saturday from the canteen at Flaggies.

Just went down to Porties and got a coffee from the Factory, thanks SB best coffee Ive had this side of Majors Rd for a while, quirky type of place, breakfasts looked good also.

Tried Modish at Woodcroft last week on a tip from others, no good.

No, must be a huge mark-up margin, cost vs sell price.

Barista's operating out of a small van would be smashing it at a busy kids football ground on a cold Sunday morning.

My local coffee shop near home makes less than 50c a coffee. He's $5.50 for a latte.

Definitely can be.

I’m a self acknowledged coffee snob, so don’t enjoy paying north of $6 for a shit coffee. For me, a good one is worth every cent.

That said, buying fresh beans and making it at home get its down to just over a $1 for a latte/flat white, and well below that for a long black. Nothing better than to make a good coffee at home when you get up in the morning.

We’ll drink 10 beers at $11 each but we have 1 coffee at $6 and we complain.

Years ago, working at Edinburgh, the cafe put up a sign announcing a price rise on coffees because the cost of milk had gone up.

My coffee increased accordingly - even though I take my coffee black.

Same, I don’t mind paying whatever the cost is for a good coffee. I’ve cut back a bit though and now only 6-7 each day

I'm guessing his including his utility and lease/re payment costs on any equipment then for such a small profit margin.

My workday is spent in a lot of cafes, Ill meet there for a meeting, sometimes up for an hour, buy 2 coffee's @ $11 and walk out, they require high volume of customers to survive so always feel guilty not spending more. With the cost of living, inflation, interest rates about to really bite I suspect we will see more fall by the wayside.
