Haven't Nairne signed Oliver Meggins?
Eagles / South Adelaide Ruckman.
Or has that already been mentioned.

Hearing Coach Stevens has brought in a hypnotist over pre-season and added meditation to the boys kit bag up at Hahndorf…
Not sure if it’s for the new recruit pokie habit or improving the accuracy in front of goal!

Kristian Adam has signed with Blackwood and was a quality junior at Flagstaff Hill.
His brother Anthony may go this way too, especially given that he lives around the corner from the club, and could be a very good player if he's at his best

I'd temper expectations on the brother. Good skills but thinks game plans and team mates are decorations. 4 clubs in the last 3 years is an interesting look, too.

Don't think the stepfather (people assume it's his real father) helps matters with Anthony but hopefully he'll work it out for himself in near future

Early season tips, Hahndorf to bounce back for the flag and Hone for the Mail Medal. Onkas or Barker for the spoon

I’ll stick with Nairne to go b2b. Lyons to win the medal. Barker for the spoon comfortably. Blackwood the next one behind an even 5-6 sides

Saw Onkas yesterday and they were impressive. Jefferies back from South helps them in the middle. Nairne looked a little off the pace, but they'll bounce back quickly. I believe Barker have lost 30 players from A grade and B grade, 15 from each. Somethings not right there at the moment, big slide coming.

Mt Barker could be in trouble for some time, it would seem.
A club that's been successful but also very 'clique(y) and set in their ways.
No doubt their juniors will hold them in sort of reasonable stead in the immediate future but will those running the show be able to admit that they need to look at, and change, the way they do things in the immediate future?

Id suggest they are the problem from what Ive heard. They've lost a lot of people in the background with footy knowledge and are now left with "the old boys club" Never heard of any club losing that many players in the course of a couple months. Most of them are also long term Barker players and left not just for money. I hope something changes, the competition without a competitive Mt Barker is odd. In the meantime, it will be good to see a couple of other clubs that have struggled get back to the top, its still one of the best comps in the state and a great standard to watch.
