The footy world still hasn't worked out this fraud.
Taken average sides to two GF's within a couple of years, I've seen a lot worse.

Because they will then go and win a game that they shouldn't get near.

For mine he needs to work out whether they attack or defend, he has too many different game plans going on.

I'll give you Freo, but I wouldn't classify that St. Kilda team as average.

I don't think he's significantly underachieved anywhere. I just struggle to understand how he's gotten this many contracts given the cut-throat nature of coaching in the AFL. Much like our old friend Kenny, he's a survivor without the runs on the board that you would expect for someone who's held head coaching positions for so long.

Beaten twice at the Saints, once by the luckiest toe poke in GF history (2009) then the following year beaten by the unluckiest bounce in GF history. And when he took the Dockers to the GF, if they’d kicked straight they would’ve beaten Hawthorn in 2013.

Yeah, I'll accept your judgement, they probably just under-achieved in 07 when they missed the finals. They rapidly declined once he left, perhaps that's why he got a second chance there.

At the end of the day there is only 1 successful coach each year and 17 unsuccessful ones.

Agree with all of this and it's why I don't think Hinkley will get another Senior Coaches role but will certainly be involved over seeing a program in the future.

Crows/Collingwood - Collingwood never really in it at all, Crows always looked more comfortable and dangerous with ball in hand, Collingwoods desire to kick the ball inside 30m with every entry is now being picked apart by the opposition, especially now they have lost 2 of their talls. Collingwood are very very slow, Pendles spent a heap of time on the bench an being at the game and watching him move around it almost feels like the game has past him. Collingwood will give 100% and stick to the game plan from Fly which will win them games, but they aren't playing finals this year. Was impressed with Ed Allan, very smooth operator and good ball user under pressure. Crows look like they might be the real deal again, but still a watch under pressure from the better teams.

Port/North - North finally look like a settled side across every line, I was quietly confident but after what we have gone through you still have many doubts in the back of the head. The mids delivered, forwards ate up the delivery and the backs held up well with Parker the general back there ala Hodge. We are spreading the field this year and then finding the holes in the corridor and taking the game on. Port looked like a team that has been over coached in summer and had too much going on in their heads, this is understandable with the changes but there wasn't any instinctive play from them at all. One thing I noticed was them holding onto the ball in the back half and refusing to kick long, including DTL kicks, what was missing was the high forward connection via a lead, something that I felt Todd Marshall would be suited with under this new game plan. Marshall up high and Georgiades deep would be a good base to work around imo. I thought Visiteni did pretty well in the centre bounces so can see why he was picked over Sweet, around the ground though he struggled, not just in the stoppages. I will never see how Lachie Jones gets a game every week and Burgoyne had to cover North's 2nd tall for along periods in the first half which I thought was strange. He got move to the wing but then got caught ball watching when simpkin kicked a goal off the ground. All that being said Port will bounce back this weekend I would think. Carr is too good a coach to not make the adjustments

Big Call on Pendles, did you watch opening round? without him, Collingwood don't win that game.

Could’ve played against Port, I’d give him one more week & bring him back against Essendon.
