Watched the ball before which was the LBW shout and thought geez DJ action is looking a tad suspect these days. Not knowing what was going to happen next ballThe Bedge wrote:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NVv4ljjeAf0

Re: PDCA
Can't believe i've only just learned that apparently you can play all season in a different competition i.e. Juniors / Women's but as long as you've played the right number of games for the club you qualify for Men's finals.
Weirdly though, if you play the right number of games for your club, but in say ATCA it doesn't count.
Either you play the required number of games in the comp you want to play finals, or you simply allow anyone who plays the required number of games for their club irrespective of the comp to be permitted.
Absolute rort.

Re: PDCA
Why is that a problem?
So a junior or women's cricketer can step up for men's finals - or am I misunderstanding?

I would have thought they would be treated as separate competitions

Re: PDCA
Different comp - you cant take kids from SANFL Jnrs and play them in AdFL finals for example.
However not against it if they play for your club, but on the same token then you shouldn't tell others theyt cant play if they play ATCA + PDCA in my opinion.. same diff.
Current examples (made these up, not based on anyone):
Player 1 plays 10 junior cricket matches in the morning in SACA juniors, doesn't play senior cricket, plays Saturday afternoons playing grade cricket.. eligible for finals.
Player 2 players 12 senior cricket matches - 5 in PDCA,, 7 in ATCA, but has played whole season for the same club... not eligible.
Player 3 plays womens cricket all season, no mens matches.. eligible.
It's dumb.

Re: PDCA
It sounds reasonable to me
A club's own junior player can play seniors. You want players to progress from juniors to seniors. His path might not be with his SACA club long term. Plus a kid shouldn't be deciding senior finals, however talented they are.
The ATCA/PDCA rule seems sensible. You don't want a gun player who hides away in a one day division or a semi social division with mates suddenly appearing in a 2 day final for instance.

Re: PDCA
On the cricket from the weekend, I’ve honestly never seen anything like it, the ending anyway.
In the semi against Andrews Farm, their opener came out swinging from ball one and took the attack right up to us. He made 90-odd off not many balls at all and they were about 100 after 11-12 overs, looking well on their way to posting 300+.
However, once the opener and their number three were dismissed in back-to-back overs, they seemed to go into their shell a little and we were able to drag things back. In the end they were all out for 204, a great result after the first 10 overs.
Our run chase didn’t get off to the best start either. Our leading run scorer for the year (1000+ runs) was dismissed early for 8, and to be fair they bowled really well in the opening overs. We managed to steady though and were 1/62 at drinks.
Long story short, it came down to the wire. We were 6/203 with just 7 balls remaining… only to lose the last four wickets for no runs and be bowled out for 203 including a Hatrick!
Still trying to wrap my head around it.

Tahana's fault, couldn't hang around for 2 more runs, Dudcarey wrote:On the cricket from the weekend, I’ve honestly never seen anything like it, the ending anyway.

It's worked for us all year, was a team decision.. would've been fine, should've chased the runs.carey wrote:Now please tell me this isn't so.The Bedge wrote:We failed to chase 257 with 9 blokes on the boundary.

Let ourselves down in the field as well.
