Sturt defender Zac Becker will take up training with North Melbourne from Monday as he bids for an SSP list spot.
22-year old came second in Sturt’s B&F in last year’s premiership winning season.
191cm who can play on talls and smalls and has a booming boot.
Another blow for the league

As mentioned 100 times in this thread its the timing of the try out as Sturt have no chance to replace the player.
Please Try and keep up!!!

Re: INS & OUTS 2026
100% - with the Eagles getting raided and now Sturt I think it's about time that the SANFL grow a pair and approach the AFL. At the very least they could hopefully get the AFL to agree to better compensation for the clubs but also seek to implement their own policies which might in some way assist the club. Sturt are lucky that they can probably absorb Becker's loss (if he goes) but a team with a poorer list get smashed with the season start not too far away.UK Fan wrote:Totally missing the point. Re: INS & OUTS 2026
Whilst i understand your point, you are ok that Central announce 6 new players over this week? Not much difference as their clubs will find it hard to find recruitss also.UK Fan wrote:Totally missing the point. Nobody suggested he shouldnt try out.beef wrote:Is he not meant to try out? Re: INS & OUTS 2026
AFL clubs now have until March 2 to sign SSP players ( just been extended from 20th Feb).
Because 6 months isn't enough time to sort out their list and they need another two weeks.

AFL aren't too bothered about the local leagues, they are happy to even see some country clubs fold, AFL only care for the $$

Agreed. Its more the people that receive a good wage to run the comp that frustrates the fans IMHO!!!Bluedemon wrote:AFL aren't too bothered about the local leagues, they are happy to even see some country clubs fold, AFL only care for the $$
They just roll over and have now resorted to making up possible threats to justify it.
ie afl clubs possible move to vfl or the change of recruiting rules for the draft in sa.

Yeah, it is, no different to the SANFL clubs sniffing around local teams during the season, trying to entice players out to cover injuries etc.Brodlach wrote:Whilst i understand your point, you are ok that Central announce 6 new players over this week? Now that Soldo is out Port better not come sniffing out Harry Boyd like Crows did with McAndrew last year.

Harry won’t be going to Port.sib wrote:Now that Soldo is out Port better not come sniffing out Harry Boyd like Crows did with McAndrew last year.
Soldo probably wasn’t going to get a game barring Injuries so zero chance Harry goes to Port just to play SANFL
