EP player has a fracture in the jaw from the incident, obviously couldn’t play the game out either

The strangest part about it was the umpire standing right there only thought it was worthy of a yellow card, but was happy to dish them out to EP players for incidents far less than that was

Think it’s around the 28min mark on the video
That should be 8-10 based on what we've seen this year. Absolute wanker. Has handed Marion the flag there.

Very surprised it didn't spark something.

It's strange. Umpires don't see anything as bryb say and as adelaidesaint says it would appear neither did ep players. Pretty sure they'd fly the flag. Hope ep lad ok

I'm not convinced he actually got him in the face / head.. and I don't believe he ended with a broken jaw - he's seen playing during later parts of the game (before injuring his arm?)

Also, given the umpire is in a very good position, you'd have to assume they saw it clearer than the video and would have made an appropriate decision on it.

Finally.. old mate almost looks like he flops when the Greenies bloke responds to the push.

Made the trip down from Yorkes to watch EP v Greenacres Saturday. Very small oval, is the 50m arc a real 50? The Clark boys were very good.

I've seen plenty of footballers continue to play, only to later find out they've broken something, jaws included.

But, your post also gives a bit of credibility to the lack of retaliation from the EP players. Even if it was a push to the face/head/neck area, surely someone comes in to remonstrate? Not one EP player moves.

True, and wouldn't have thought different except for this bit:

The player that got hit, spent the first 20 mins of the game flopping so team mates probably assumed he flopped again to get a free
If Clark flopped everytime Tuckwell Clifton or Glenn hit him off the footy he'd still be flopping, at least Rigney and O'Loughlin generally hit you when the ball is in the area.

He definitely tried to come back on, nobody said his jaw was hanging and completely broken.. he received medical treatment for a suspected fracture in the jaw, he lasted about 15 minutes after he tried playing on, which in a final I dare say 90% of players would try go back out there! I haven’t heard from him since Saturday so don’t know the outcomes with any of the medical reports etc

I was right there when it happened but didn’t actually see the incident to be honest, just seen him on the ground after it that’s why there wasn’t a reaction on my behalf.. can’t speak for anyone else

The fact you think umpires make appropriate decisions when it comes to this stuff especially involving clubs like EP is just crazy, I’ve seen you get upset about umpires and their decisions towards ingle farm multiple times so you know yourself there’s a bit of northern tax for certain clubs

I can’t believe it’s being defended in any sense, throwing right hooks just isn’t a thing anymore!

Later parts of the game is funny also lol happened at the 28min mark on the video, last time he is on the ground is the 42min mark or something? So just short of 15 minutes later..

Your Absolutely bang on the money.
The player with the “fractured jaw” was flopping all game. Happy to give it out as a tagger but then flops when he gets a shove to the chest.
No retaliation or umpire steps on because it didn’t hit the jaw. Straight to the chest.

The strangest part about it was the umpire standing right there only thought it was worthy of a yellow card, but was happy to dish them out to EP players for incidents far less than that was

Think it’s around the 28min mark on the video
Your lucky someone’s standing in the way of the footage. As you and the umpire there both know there was no punch thrown. The fact you have to lie about it so you can get him rubbed out because he beat you is hilarious.

You must know more than the doctors and the medical report that’s been passed on to the league - photos included.. No punch thrown? You are either blind or stupid, where else was the swinging right hand at head height going?

And I personally have no involvement in any of it, so not sure how I’M lying? It’s hilarious you think that

Poppy will be a more than handy replacement :) :) :)

Also the umpire handed out a card for striking? But he must be lying to, never seen one handed out for a push in the chest to be honest..

So that umpire your talking about… the statement he made today saying it was a shove to the chest is a flat out lie? Interesting…

So he gave a yellow card out for a shove in the chest? Makes sense.. must mean the player in question is playing this weekend and all the other evidence was thrown out is that correct?

I haven’t called anyone a liar just for the record, I just said a card was given out for striking and I’ve never seen one be given out for a push in the chest like you are claiming is what happened

I’m sure your aware of what happens now, when the umpire says it was in the chest and eastern park have said it was a punch to the jaw and want 8 weeks.. your a smart man.
See what happens next week I guess!

Hope you guys make it, would be a shame to do all of this and not make the grand final.
