Mitcham only have to win on Saturday to take top spot CLG will not be barracking for Mitcham, they'll hope that Woody South knock them off.
Woody South often find themselves in this position in round 18. They need to win to keep 5th position and if they don't, they better hope Pulteney doesn't knock of Marion.
If Marion does lose, it's going to take a hell of a huge win by Greenacres to knock them out of 3rd position. My mathematical skills are shocking so perhaps someone can calculate how much they'd need to flog Blackfriars by to gain the 10% needed to overtake Marion in 3rd
Anyway, can't see it happening.
Marion have scored 353 more points than the Dragons, and had 277 less points kicked against them, so combined margins need to be more than 630 points.
To quote Richie Benaud from the 12th Man: "Not an impossible task, but pretty well f***ing close"
Unfortunately for us, we miss the second chance to play west croydon due to the forfeit so can’t make the percentage up on Mitcham. However we will enjoy the week off and the chance to freshen up before finals

All jokes aside, you were never making up the difference. You have the worst defence of the top 3 sides.
You would've had to win by best part of 45 goals.

Standard CLG arrogance
127 was the average losing margin for the year. Last time we played it was a 36 goal win and they kicked 24 points. The other teams in the top 3 have to play better teams than wcfc as we have already done, and incur more points against. Fair to say wcfc arent travelling any better than round 9 and there was a small chance top spot could be grabbed, not arrogance, just maths..but I dont mind a week off either

45 Goals on top of the 127 points they've been given in the last round. Closer to 60 goals assuming Mitcham win by a few goals as well. It was never going to happen.
How in the world are WC on less points than what they started with? They had a pretty decent list last year and to start this year, with a few nice inclusions in which never played. This is a massive capitulation if I’ve ever seen one. What a disaster

I'm no scientist but at a guess they may have lost points?

No shit! The question is cleary how? Doesn’t take scientist to work it out..
