Let's face it - they're gone for good.
Glenys did all the work at the club, she was fair burnt out by the end, cant see her being too keen to get involved again. Also a lot of their player group has moved on.

* President Marc Cossens has stood down, and exec are now seeking nominations for a replacement. Interesting to see the impacts this has, especially after he pushed two major changes last season - a change in association captain after the success of Cougar, and the push for a pure one day competition.
* AGM 22nd August
* Cost per team set to increase this year by approx. $100
* Insurance component open for completion on mycricket - cheaper than last season.
* Looking at split format competition: Div 1 & Div 2 played mixed two day and one day games Div 3 & Div 4 play pure one day games
* T20 Comp to be played again - prize money if any is undecided.
Will be interested to see who takes over this role. It's not going to be an easy role with the Association on the decline. Personally, i like the format of Div 1 and 2 staying the same and Div 3 and 4 playing pure one dayers. Last year in particular Fitzroy Div 4 side struggled to field a side for 2 dayers. Having one dayers only will make it a lot easier for clubs with a 3rd team to get a team together.
Why the interest? You have moved on to turf. Why Is the association on the decline?
I'm allowed to have an interest in an Association that i have moved on from. Didn't realise i couldn't.
It's not hard to see that the Association is on the decline. The standard has dropped a fair bit not only in SA Churches Association but also the other states. There are very few clubs that actually have youth coming through.

Standard may have dropped but clubs are still looking to improve. Standard drops because players leave the club they are meant "care" about instead of sticking around and helping whatever youth there is to help development. Only takes the recruitment of 1-2 young blokes who have mates that can play.

Very hard to keep motivated when there are very few who do care about the club. Can't develop players when 5 -10 people rock up to training on a selection night. Players treat this Association like park cricket. But i suppose you can keep having a dig at the people who were there week in week out. I hope for your sake that some others can step up to the plate.
Dont think its a case of people not caring...its a matter of the busy modern lifestyle. Asking people to train twice a week and then spend 7 or 8 hrs on a saturday is a tough ask for a parklands cricketer.

OUCH!
That's a pretty low blow to a bloke who basically held your clubs A grade together for the past couple of seasons. Kid is only young, cant begrudge him for wanting to test himself at a different level on a different surface - or seek enjoyment in a different comp.. Be no different if your lad wanted to return to Prossies..
Shouldn't burn bridges Arch - never know when you might need Harry to return

I blame Rose Park for the comp in decline, blokes should learn to share some premierships around. I mean how much would it burn blokes having structured training's during the week and training hard to know these blokes dont even train let alone have a clubrooms to go back too. There is only so much shade one tree has.
Rose Park are New Years specialists - and two day specialists.. always seem to struggle until xmas then suddenly new year new team and they just go and start flogging sides

Yes we normally sack Cougar as captain around xmas and drop him down the order

And there it is - the Rose Parks achilles heel. Get in early. Get the tree. Refuse to move. = win.
Like it. Gets West End in as major sponsor. Winning
This happens I'm defiantly back!
If you come back, I'll get Mrs. Creation to fire up a batch of those cheesecake balls...

Ten day cooling off period. Could still fall through i guess.
I was LOL'ing as there are no contracts to join the PDCA, a motion needs to be forwarded at the AGM and then the club delegates will cast a vote, it is very rare for a new club to be knocked back, they have been but it's usually circumstantial.
He was extracting the urine LM - besides Fitzroy have already been excepted into PDCA, been playing past couple season in the one day comp, have just removed their side this season due to lack of numbers.
