Don't know about Cupidoll playing for North. They have no money to pay him. O'Loughlin and Hocking broke the bank the other year. Perhaps they someone pumping some money in because he won't play for free. They have signed Hollitt from Mallala.

Spoke to Ryan Darling at the grand final. Said he was still very keen to stay at Sturt but will see what happens. If it doesn't work out at Sturt, he'll be back at Blyth/Snowtown :D :D :D

Not on the board but I get around the league and find out what's on. North Clare put all there eggs into one basket when they got Hocking and O'Loughlin. It cost them a far bit and it didn't work out. I don't blame those guys. I would have jumped at the offer given as well. It caused a far bit of friction within the club.

Last season they appoint the B grade coach to do the A grade and don't recruit anyone of note. North have never done that in the past. They always find some reasonable recruits and coaches from somewhere and seem to know who moves into Clare before anyone else does. Both Clare teams have in the past enjoyed financial support from various people and businesses in Clare. That money is now not as freely available and both clubs are feeling the pinch. If North have turned their situation around in 12 months then good luck to them. They can recruit Cupido but they need a hell of a lot more than that and he won't hang around for long if he is not having success.

If Josh H says he's staying at Mallala then I'll believe you. One less good recruit we have to worry about. A few people in Clare will tell you he has signed but as I remind them " A lot is going to happen in the next 6 months"

Have heard around the district that Blyth-Snowtwon may be talking to a few Hummocks boys from the APFL. Would make the Cats even stronger.

Pretty much, the same with every club when there is to be a change of coach, the rumours fly around with players testing the waters elsewhere not sure where they stand with a new coach coming in. Did it myself at the turn of the century.

We talk to the Hummocks guys all the time. Never convinced any of them to leave. They seem to go to Clare if they play in North Eastern. Maybe we aren't far enough away :-k

Not too many leave. If one was to leave you'd think they'd at least want some cash which would be more likely on offer in Clare wouldn't it? WHo has gone that way from Hummocks? The only ones I can think of are Moulds, Redpath and Barr ages ago.

Does anyone have intimate knowledge of the ins and outs around the league?

Pech has gone from Eudunda back to Angaston - big loss. Others?
Spicer back to Barossa Bulldogs also.

It's the same player. A huge bonus for us to have him back. Don't think he will be going back to Adelaide anytime soon. Bit of a shame because he could have been a handy SANFL player.

Does any one have any idea how they think the teams in this league are going to shape up this year?

Heard Callum Rohde is leaving Eudunda as well.

Josh Hollitt, John Nicholas very handy inclusions for North.

Todd Nordhousen playing down YP somewhere, good pick up for whatever side gets him.

Most clubs are very quiet at the moment and haven't made too many announcements unlike previous years.

BBH: Lost Spicer to Barossa. Haven't heard of any pickups of note.
BSR: Concentrating on their juniors, The new coach (Butch Smith ex Blyth/Snowtown coach) could bring a couple of players from Pirie with him.
EUDUNDA: Pech and Rohde are huge losses. Stephen Carter and Brayden Lyle are returning. Might be bringing another Port player with them.
MIN/MAN: All cashed up but can't get anyone. Most players they have tried have gone to Barossa or YP. Probably waiting to see who doesn't make the SANFL final players lists.
NORTH: Hollitt and Nicholas will help the midfield. Need to find some players to kick goals and stop them to be a threat.
RSMU: Spent up big last year, made a lot of noise and got a lot of ex-players back. Totally blew up in their faces. Craig Mullins from Centrals is rumored to be returning.
SOUTH: Very quiet!!!! Perhaps too quiet. No news from them

BLYTH/SNOWTOWN: Ryan Darling back. Simon Wiese and Paddy Keain look like they are staying in Adelaide but a couple of handy ex-players might return to replace them. May be a bit unsettled during the year because a few players have found employment up north and will be unavailable at certain times. Things look pretty good for 3 in a row.
