Brodlach fired up big time in Round 12 to defeat the highly rated Moneybrawl outfit and what was a high scoring effort in this particular bye week. The Bombers' win means that there is now a two game gap between Moneybrawl and the league leading Hawks who just keep rolling along at this level. That four points by the Bombers could be the win that guarantees them a finals spot this season as they have a decent buffer now over quite a few 6-6 teams.
Beedubs were the scoring stars of the round as they won against the battling Bat Soup Eaters in a canter. As far as the relegation battle goes, the bottom seven sides all lost with Anytime Turtles the big surprise to be in this company. Fighting out of relegation territory is Go Tiges who aren't big scorers but are in the habit of racking up vital wins and they did so again this week. I reckon Bat Soup can avoid relegation and that Robsquad and Giants Legends are the teams in the gun here. Bottom three are toast I reckon.
It's a real top v bottom round this week in Division IV. This makes the battle of Beedubs vs. Biker Babes Best the match of the round. This 8th vs. 9th battle will, um, determine who will be in the top eight next week. All right, I've got nothing...happy now?

With harryshawks and Moneybrawl marching on to seemingly inevitable glory, the drama in the league was lower down on the ladder. There are two top four spots up for grabs after Liams Layabouts and Willie Nillies turned out with an inglorious display which saw them defeated by teams lower on the ladder. Dream Team and Brodlach's Bombers were the big winners as both sides scoring well and getting vital wins.
Biker Babes has scored a massive score for this level and it looks as though the babes are no hurry to give up there spot to the chasing pack which have the likely teams Anytime Turtles and King Cobwebs. There were a couple of heartbreakers this round with Robsquad dead stiff to get rolled by top four dream team by nine points after scoring what was a highly competitive score. It's a game that Rob can't afford to lose but at least most of the bottom teams didn't record a win except for HereComesTheSuns who got the upset win over the Layabouts. Bat Soup Eaters also put on a good sow but copped a heart breaking loss as they were smashed by Brodlach who looks on his way to the finals. The bottom sides are still alive and well but Brad's Rookies and Benno's Beasts in particular have their work ahead of them to avoid the drop.
The match of the round this week will determine whether Willie Nillies are the genuine article or a bit of a pretender. A poor score in this post byes round is not a good sign but Morgs gets the chance to redeem himself in the match of the round Willie Nillies vs. Killer Wombats. The Wombats have looked a pretty dangerous side and while the Nillies aren't gone yet, I don't see them scoring enough to trouble the Wombats.

Scores were up in SuperCoach land with Moneybrawl smashing out the top score in the league with a brutal smashing of relegation threatened Bat Soup Eaters. Another relegation side in Giants Legends had an even bigger tale of woe as as their 2514 was not enough for them to secure a victory over a pumped up Anytime Turtles who won the high scoring match and scrambled into the top eight. Bikers Babe was the casuality as they could not keep up with brodlach who moved up to 6th and now have one eye on the top four.
Killer Wombats looked every inch a top four team in waiting and so it proved to be the case as they smashed a declining Willie Nillies who are now in freefall. The Nillies look a monty for the top four but now look like they could miss the eight altogether, such is their drop in scoring. Dream Tea was another side to rack up 2500 this week to smash the Cobwebs but at 7-7 not all over yet. Go Tiges got to that mark as well with a solid performance which was far too strong for Benno's Beasts. HereComesTheSuns have now won four of their last five in a remarkable comeback which has seen them sprint out of the relegation zone and with a much improved percentage to boot.
harry still the pick of the bunch but it could be an interesting finals series given the improvement of some of the top eight sides. Preliminary finalists go up, bottom four relegated in three weeks.

King Cobwebs put up a stunning marker in Round 16 with a solid win over top four Killer Wombats to storm into the top eight. The biggest problem that the Cobwebs have though, is that they play the mighty harryshawks in the last round which gives Anytime turtles a great chance to clamber into the finals at the last minute. Anytime has the much easier task of defeating relegation bound Robsquad in the last round so it looks as though Cobwebs have to double up to make the eight.
In the divvy IV relegation battle, the suddenly in form Bat Soup Emails faces a very tough match against Dream Team to avoid the drop. Of the teams below, Benno's Beasts plays Brad Rookies so the Beasts will give themselves a decent chance of relegating the Bat Soups. Brodlach Bombers probably missed their chance as they have a tougher opponent than the Wombats does this week.

Killer Wombats vs. Brodlach Bombers
Dream Team vs. Willie Nillies
Killer Wombats has a massive fail in week one in the finals with the wheels well and truly falling off as a series of outs in combination with playing harryshawks *cough* wycbloods proved to be too much of a struggle in their Qualifying Final. Dream Team put up a better fight but Moneybrawl returned to Division III with a fine finals win. In the Elimination final Brodlach Bombers were the stand out and I reckon he can win his semi against Wombats while Dream Team should be able to bounce back against Willie Nillies who just don't have the scoring power to advance.

Re: Hogg Division IV 2022
Preliminary Finals
1st Preliminary Final
harryshawks 2467
Dream Team 2295
2nd Preliminary Final
Moneybrawl 2316
Brodlach Bombers 2250
Harryshawks have dominated Division IV this season and they should go on and account for the underdog Moneybrawl in the Grand Final this week. Unlike in Division V where the chasing pack have closed the gap, there appears to be a gulf in class between Hawks and the rest with Moneybrawl the clear second best side. Unbackable the Hawks this week I feel.

Re: Hogg Division IV 2022
Grand Final Preview
Moneybrawl has come on and waved the white flag already and fair enough too for having to carry the likes of Preussy and Shitfield into a Grand Final. Not what you need coming up against a side that has dropped one match all year.
Uniques
Moneybrawl carnage aside, his uniques aren't in the same class as harry's. Ryan and Petracca have shown more than once they are capable of a misfire and ROB can go anywhere from 150 to 50 in any given round. Meanwhile Walsh and the former seagull Lloyd have been a bit lukewarm this year. Meanwhile, harry has a red hot Brayshaw who is gobbling up Petracca's midfield points, an in-form Gawn and I reckon the Eagles will kick it to Tom Stewart all day. Culley is the weak link for harry though and Short puts in a spudder Moneybrawl could surprise but this one looks so one sided even I can't get this tip wrong.
My tip - harryshawks by 186 pts.

Hey REB
I can assure you this isn't me helping him. There is no way i would've had Gus Brayshaw in my side after the pain he has caused me in the past. The lad did rather well by himself. He has much more time on his hands than i do.

A bit like Dayne Zorko, it seems I owe the young man an apology after suspicious ol REB thought the youngster was going a bit too well for a youngster and perhaps the hand of Dad aka wycbloods was involved. I really should have known better. While Harry was going to strength to strength, Dad was spudding it up in Premier League and saving my sorry arse from relegation. Hmmmm...this doesn't really sound like an apology bloods. Sorry about that, guess I'm still salty after Westies knocked off the Redlegs last week.
Um..where was I? Oh yes, the game! Moneybrawl waved the white flag during the week and even though Taranto and Whitfield did play it didn't count for much as Harry romped home by 176 points. Congratulations young man on a well deserved premiership result, harry's second in the Hogg Shield now.

Re: Hogg Division IV 2022
Still annoyed I lost the Prelim with a crap Sunday ( Shiel smashing Zerritt for one), I would have beaten Harry’s in the GF and had 2 trades kept for the GF.
Thanks for all your efforts again this year @rik e boy, you make it really enjoyable
