Australian International Summer
I was just reading an article, I wasnt aware we play the 3rd T20 international against Sri Lanka on Feb 22nd in Adelaide. We play the 1st Test in India on Feb 23rd. The last time a test was within 2 days of an International? Yep you guessed it Adelaide in November 2014.
Cricket Australia really starting to take us for fools now, presumably anyone in both teams wont be playing the entire T20 series meaning the likes of Warner Smith Starc wont be on show. We pay a fortune for our membership at SACA to get about 7 days of international cricket if were lucky but one of those is a watered down version of Australia.
Ive always said T20s should be left to prop up domestic cricket, it shouldnt have a place in International cricket

Re: Australian International Summer
Saca members would be right to feel aggrieved but it's the whole setup that is becoming a joke.
Non-cricket and non-sport fans must wonder how much value is placed on the Australian team when they'll hear about an Australian team playing 20-20 one day and then a team representing supposedly the same starting a test overseas the next. Or even, and i don't know the schedule, two australian teams, both called Australia not Australia A, potentially playing a 20-20 here and a warmup game in India at the same time.
Test starts in 12 days time and there have been no shield games.
How about all those south africans who bought tickets and we sent over a pop-gun attack. Imagine if a country sent a team like that out here, there'd be a huge whinge.

South Africa are currently playing a 2 day day-night match against a CA XI. They made 415 yesterday.
The Australian squad for the first test will be named this Friday, October 28th

A joke.
Ridiculously early start time to the test series as well, BTW.

9/89. Steyn, Philander, Rabada and Abbott all have two wickets.

Re: Australian International Summer
This is going to be a very interesting summer, if we get pantsed in a couple of Tests everything could unravel real quick. If Smith gets injured and Warner becomes Test skipper we are in a world of shit.

Re: Australian International Summer
Apparently Brayshaw , Lee and Hussey aren't going to be part of Channel 9's team this year.
Clarke and Pietersen will be.
Excellent news about Brayshaw, Lee and Clarke IMO, wouldn't have minded if Hussey stayed.
Edit: Oops, didn't see Booney had posted this on another thread.

I would've like Hussey to stay on aswell. Clarke and Pietersen will offer something refreshing and different to the usual yesterday's hero's carry on we're use too.

Provided KP doesn't act like a knob when he's rostered on with Warnie.
Read his book cover to cover on a flight from London to Dubai. His thoughts on the tactics were refreshing. He's backed it up with his BBL commentary.

Re: Australian International Summer
Pietersen's quite well spoken and as long as he doesn't act like a dickhead he should be a good addition.
Can't see him talking about his own career every two overs like certain other commentators.

Re: Australian International Summer
Looking forward to this year. I think we've got the talent to be #1 in the world again and after a challenging series in Asia, this is probably when these blokes need to start building. If we can keep our best bowlers on the park, it looks very much like we have a lot of class batsmen in good touch. Hoping Nevill starts making some runs but more importantly we have a real number 6 batting at, well, number 6. If M. Marsh doesn't improve his batting he just simply cannot last the whole summer. Particularly if Hazlewood and Starc keep performing with the ball.
