Had 2 years of Optus forced upon me when living at a mates house, even their NBN was worse than other ISPs broadband.
Would never consider doing anything with Optus.
I don't have Optus or Foxtel but certainly lay the full blame of the current situation at Optus's feet, not Foxtels . Would consider myself immoral and stupid if I ever gave a cent to Optus.
Have sorted out a much smarter and cheaper way to watch EPL. It arrives in the next two days, can't wait :)

Going to wait until last minute as Optus are panicking that they are not going to get anywhere near required target and they may offer up a subscription package on Foxtel still.

i have foxtel and optus TV now so no fuss for me.
Will keep foxtel as i have a lot of shows i watch on it
Optus TV will just be for the EPL and nothing more as Optus TV is the same shows as foxtel anyway

I was paying more for wireless internet before optus broadband anyway so saving money from previous. And it was about time i had broadband here and not wireless so not fussed whatever goes on.

They wont get what the need in the first season back no way, maybe season 2 they will as who wants to watch games on delayed coverage and who can stay away from news reports or social media avoiding the results.

Optus broadband. You poor bastard, I hope noone in your household goes on facebook while you're trying to game or stream.
I'm still getting over how bad their NBN was.

All internet is piss poor in this country unless you are living across the road from the exchange.

Now with the libs changing the nbn to the node it will be still the same in 40 years.

My mate in germany has his isp going and it must be a minimum of 50mbps all the time or the isp needs to fix it and they get free internet until it reaches the minimum. ...:(

Unfortunately the kiwi company contract runs out at the end of this season but they might win the tender for it again (or a similar provider).
I'm sure there would be many countries with similar and a vpn see up correctly means similar in another country could be set up to.

whatever the case it dont believe that optus/foxtel will do a new deal for this season coming at least . As foxtel just won the football clubs TV deals , it would make that pointless. Might be good for something different but most are saying they are going to keep off of social media and news reports and watch the matches delayed

Doubtful optus will say half way through next season to foxtel "we cant manage this can you assist ".
IF any deals go through it will be for the second season of their 3 year deal.

Probably will be the case but know for a fact Optus are really panicking and didn't do the maths properly on this deal. A bloke at works wife is pretty high up at Optus here and there are massive concerns the product can be delivered properly. Early testing and data from them has it looking likely of a chance of poor to grainy quality with plenty of drop outs predicted.
Every Optus customer who qualifies for the free EPL package will be given 4 log ins so I'm just going to use one of his log ins and not give them a cent

i said this when it was announced along with others that optus can not handle it.

They will have no option but to do a deal to air games on foxtel like now but the optus chiefs cant see that.

I am sure i read somewhere that the FA need to see how the rights holder will broadcast it before they are fully given as if it doesnt hold up so to speak, the rights deal is forfeited and put to tender again.
