The only ones we could keep was the players that where on Port's list, which we still paid a transfer fee for even though they weren't changing teams. Once these players filter through (move on/retire) we will only be taking players from the academy side 18-21 years olds.

The part about taking players from the 18-21 academy side is good (and that's the way it should be) is that the official clubs stance is it? but i don't think it should be when these players choose to retire or choose to move on, the change should be made next year at worst with a one years notice. You can't have the big advantage you have this year for potentially the next four or five years.

I was just wondering, If the Power or Crows were found guilty of cheating the salary cap at AFL level would that flow down and the clubs be penalized at SANFL level and how could the SANFL punish them?
Take points away- No they wouldnt care
Recruiting bans- no, it wouldnt be a penalty
Or if they were to be found guilty of paying more than $400/game to top up players what would that penalty be?
The way I see it they can pretty much do as they like

• To retain existing 1 – 35 listed Magpies players within the SANFL competition, transfer fees for these players to be set at 50% of transfer fee through SANFL points system.
• 36 – 50 listed Magpies players to transfer SANFL Clubs for zero fee.
• From 2014, Magpies listed 15 players can transfer to other SANFL Clubs for fee of $2,500.
• Players from the academy team to have the ability to move to other SANFL Clubs for zero fee.

Plus the extra he will get paid once he is 28. Which is simply due to the contract he had with the club in 2013.

Just to clear it up for you, that is what a club like Sturt had to pay for Beard, Kirkwood, Watts etc
