A-League 2013/14 Transfers, Results & Discussion

Post by Jim05 »

Harry Kewell has signed a 1 year deal with the Melbourne Heart.
Is not taking the marquee spot and is playing for bugger all to fit into the salary cap

United have signed 3 players to complete their list
Isaias Sanchez, 26yo midfielder from Spanish 2nd division. Has played for Espanyol in Primera League
Sergio Ciria, 28yo winger/forward also from Spanish Division 2.
Both players spent several years at Barcelona's youth academy.
Also Tarek Elrich has joined from the Wanderers, the 26yo is expected to hold down the right back spot

First Trial game last night for Adelaide United.

Adelaide United win 4-1 over Cumberland with Jeronimo scoring 3 goals and Golec with 1

The game was scatchy first half but united started to show the new style of play but there is a long way to go to completely change to the style.
The problem with Barcelona is that I like fish and chips but they had to turn it into calamari and patatas

Knockout comp being introduced next year, sounds like a great idea.

Steven Lustica has joined Adelaide United from Hajduk Split.

Matt thompson also currently trailing with the club.

About a week before the season start I will do a full transfer round up for all clubs, post squads and even do a quick preview with predictions if you wish, you are also welcome to help/add input to all that if you wish.

Talk is Melling is going to be off to a second div spanish side (i think on loan set up by the manager) so i would say there, the good think about Thompson is he can play defence and midfield.
