PED's

Post by Sorry Dude »

With the debate raging in regards to PED's etc a mate and I were discussing if a cortisone injection is/ should be a PED.

Interested to hear people's thoughts on this.

Its common practice in Sports Medicine so it has to be legal.

Should it be legal is another matter altogether.....

Yeah while it is common practice but does it really make one person better than another? Yes it will get someone back on the park but, it can delay the recovery time of an injury.

False.

Injection of glucocorticosteroids around tendons, into joints, and epidural (into the spine) is not prohibited, but injection into a muscle is prohibited.

Inhalation of glucocorticosteroids (e.g. for asthma) is not prohibited.

Nurofen is not a glucocorticosteroid.

Not quite correct. Ventolin and like substances are able to be used with the correct medical certificates.

Within limits, isn't it? Ventolin is 16 puffs per day or something?
