Best Gyms in Adelaide?
Just wondering where you like to train and how you find it?
I used to be a member of Goodlife at the Paragon at Modbury, a mixed bag as far as a reccomendation goes though, nice staff and friendly patrons, yet its way to small to be a Goodlife, has no pool and you do have to wait for equipment in the PM time after work. All of which Goodlife advertise is not what happens at Goodlife!
I noticed that Goodlife have opened a new franchise at Dernancourt which looks pretty good in the old Haggle building, memberships run around 1k per year though which seems pretty steep!

I'm a member of Jetts at Valley View which allows me to go to any other gym under that banner. I live closer to Modbury so I go there now. No pool but it's cheap and open 24/7. It has all I need.

Re: Best Gyms in Adelaide?
I was a member at Fitness First on King William St next to BankSA in the city a few years ago. Had a personal trainer take me once a week for a few months which was good, but cost me $50/half hour. Fees were a bit on the high side at $79 a month, but I could use my card to get into any Fitness First in the country.
Their facilities were excellent and the old stairwells were great to run up and down.
The only downside was when I tried to cancel my membership, they wouldnt cancel it unless I had a meeting with someone there, which I was unable to do within work hours. It took a few angry phone calls until they cancelled it and stopped taking money from my account.

Re: Best Gyms in Adelaide?
i mainly train at a private gym which is good as there's not too many people that go. I also have anytime fitness membership which I use when working late shift. It's not too bad but most of them are too small if your training at like 5 6. it's also good when i got interstate for work I can still use my membership and it's cheap $51 a month. there's a new 24/7 gym at mawson lakes which looks the goods be meaning to go and have a proper look.
We're on this journey together, One Heart, One Club and they will Never Ever Tear Us Apart.

Pay for what you're going to use. If your gym has a bunch of fancy shit like pools and saunas that you'll hardly ever use then don't pay the high price for it.

Re: Best Gyms in Adelaide?
Foundation Member at Goodlife North Adelaide. Compact compared to others but I go in the Mornings at 6am, only the hardcore and committed ones turn up at that hour.
Most of the equipment is still in good nick but it does lack a decent area to stretch/body weight exercises. Can't comment on the classes they offer as I have never been. Signed up for a PT when I first joined but apart from teaching me the basics for technique I found him overpriced. Turned Right off them when mine started suggesting sessions in a nearby park for sprints/running work. I paid to use the gym as well you know....
Now get all my routines/advice from Men's Health Magazine. Actually due to start my winter program for the cricket off season on Monday provided the Physio gives me the all clear for a current injury that is holding me back.

Just joined the Gym that we have at the school I work at...
It's small but has all new machines, plenty of free weights, Basket Ball courts for cardio stuff and only costs me $20 a term...
