Yeah probably expecting a bit too much from Rafa but compared to his lofty standards he had one of his worst matches for a while so far. Have been waiting for him to click up a gear or two but it just hasnt happened yet

I don't know the stats but I think it would be a very long time since someone has completely dominated a season of tennis like Djokovic has so far, only one loss up until the end of Wimbledon, 49-1 or something so far, deserves his number 1 ranking.

Djokovic has it over him. In the game and in his head.

5-0 this year.

How slow people are to realise Novak is the best in the world now. Even before he got the #1 ranking he's been the best all year so far, and will now end the year as #1 unless he goes down injured for any decent amount of time. Even worse news for Nadal fans is the US is the surface that evens out the playing field in terms of speed and power, Nadal's 2 main strengths. Federer will find as he gets older the US is his best chance to a farewell slam while Djokovic and even Murray will be very tough to beat as well.

I don't think it's about recognising him as the best, more about not liking him much. Lol

Im actually a fan of Novak, have for a few years now, To me it gets a tad boring with the same two guys winning everything, and Novak of late with Murray always seemed to be around the mark, so good to see him get this to go with the Australian Open and also the Aus open he won in 08 i think it was. If anything this will make Nadal even hungrier to show he is true legend material, so it could bring out something even more special in Nadal. Just my two cents, although i dont like Murray and i hope he puts Britain through more pain in the near future haha

I saw in the paper yesterday Djokovic was the underdog at $2.25 and thought if I were a betting man I'd get on that. As much as I like Nadal and dislike Djokovic, Novak has had the wood on Nadal this year 4-0 head to head going into it. I expected Nadal to lose but not quite in the fashion he did.

After the event but he was $3.75 at the quarter finals with a run to the final of Tomic, Tsonga/Fed. Value all the way through really.

He's not as charismatic as Nadal or as stylish as Federer, so I can see why people might not like him so much. But there's no denying his form and ability. I still think he's down the list somewhat in terms of all time great, but this year is just about the greatest 6 months played of all time. The top end of the men's draw is so strong, he'd have been #1 years ago if he'd have played in many other eras. Just unlucky that Nadal and Federer happen to have been around, although Fed is a few years past his best now.
