Good Links there LGIL. Its a pity the online version of the articles dont show the actual teams. Still good articles tho.
Seeing as though noone has chucked out any new names on this forum for a while I am going to have a go at putting up a survey (voting thing with some of the names mentioned so far. Dont know how they work but hopefully everyone can have multiple (say 5) votes. To see which are the front runners for the final 21 from our point of view.
Obviously there will be names missing but lets see what happens. (hopefully people dont just vote for players from their own clubs either)
I'll see what I can do!!!

Great to see the Sullies article this week.
Still feel they were raped by the council and South soccer. Some great names amongst their line up.

Brightons Team of all time in the messenger this week. Some big names and "not so" big names.
With a few dual and triple mail medallists they could have a couple in the SFL team.....

I see the forum discussion gets a mention in this weeks Southern Times Messenger. (the article across from the MVP team of all time)
There are even a few quotes chucked in from this very thread.
I reckon one was even mine....

If you click the link and then click the archive button in the bottom right corner you can go back through all the previous weeks messengers and look at all the sides.

Re: SFL Team of All Time
Just a bit of a query to people from different clubs to see if anyone knows how much time and effort went into each club picking their best team of all time.
Someone from Cove mentioned they recently had a night at the club dedicated to their own team of all time with a sort of framed plaque and team sheet presented to each player selected. From memory Reynella named there team a few years back also.
Are other clubs looking at doing this or is it just a rare few. It seems a bit funny if past legends of any club that may have been away from the game for a while find out they have been selected in a best team of all time by reading it along with everyone else in the messenger....

Re: SFL Team of All Time
I see Happy Valleys Side is in this weeks messenger.
Reasonable side, but its a bit disapointing to not have many stats below the players names as done by other teams.
It looks like they have only listed games to the nearest 50. (ie only 100, 150, 200 games)
and none of the players have there accolades (premierships, leading goalkcikers etc.)
Not knowing heaps about Valley I was interested to see how many flags some of there side played in and other personal highlights.
Especially as this is the only real way to compare players from different clubs and eras.

Re: SFL Team of All Time
After looking at the sides I have noticed that a few of the clubs have players that have only played a handful of games in there best ever teams.
From memory blokes like Big Seb from MVP, Marty Clifton from hackham etc.
I assume that means that there was no limit on games played too make any of the sides. (as was discussed earlier.)

I think if you had one a mail medal or Club best & fairest you could get a mention.

Fair enough too, They deserve to be recognised by their respective teams.
I wonder if the SFL selection committee have any rules (on games played etc) as a prerequisite to be selected in the SFL team?
