Was very good against us last Saturday but if he received votes probably only one. That maybe his year's story. Deserving but mostly in losing teams and therefore not getting the threes.

Who.... Surely if he is going to be a possible mail medallist he would be close to a household name.

If you can rely on the Sunday Mail best players he will certainly win Christies B & F. Reckon there hasn't been a week he has missed best players.

Sean has been in the best 15 out of 18 times, not a bad effort! But I agree with Asert, to get enough votes to win a Mail Medal you have to be a household name...... as per below.......
2009
S. Guilhaus
Morphettville Park
2008
T. Johnstone
Brighton D & OS
2007
J. Pomeroy
Happy Valley
2006
A. Bachmann
Christies Beach
2005
S. Middleton

What do you expect when it is umpires that do the votes...trying to umpire the game, remember who played well & who didn't, too much for them to comprehend one would think.

this sort of debate always raises the question of having an independent monitor of the game to determine who is actually best on ground, not just someone who the umpires remember...

Exactly right. Unlike in afl familiar faces help greatly in this. As well as he may have played it would be unlikely. Plus will only poll 1 votes as Christies didn't win enough games for him.

Seb Guilhaus was hardly a household name at least to SFL umpires and Wade from Marion likewise, and he polled enough votes last year to win the medal in most other years. Both played in sides that won less than half their games so if McIvor is as good as people are saying then he is still a chance.

Having said that, a certain no. 2 for the Brighton Bombers may be standing in his way.

Would like to see him win it, if only to dispel the theory that you need to be a "household" name to win.

Correct me if I am wrong Brighton people, but isn't Brad Hunter a former League/Reserves player with South Adelaide?

Reckon he is more of a 'household' name than the others in that list (excluding Vick ofcourse)...

I'd rate Hunter in that list as winner.

Watched Valleys v Towns on Sunday. I'm sure he is far from it (Best player in the SFL) but Ben Squire ripped Towns a new a--- hole and absolutely never looked like dropping anything nor missing a goal. Very impressive performance....
Can you bring a man to his feet when defeat is on repeat?
