Will Noarlunga win another game in 2010?

Post by HH3 »

Some discussion on the Southern Football League thread about Noarlungas tough remaining fixture, i think they will struggle to win another game. Especially with 2 byes remaining...

I voted "yes" but it won't be many. I reckon they'll snag at least one somewhere.
One aspect of this makes you really wonder ----- the Shoes missed the finals last year yet only get one game against each of last year's bottom three. How does that work

Maybe because the bottom 3 need to play each other twice for the first time in 3 years. In 2008 we played Lonsdale once, in 2009 we played Lonsdale once. This is the first year since ive been at Hackham that we play the Lions twice. Noarlunga think they can match it with the top teams, and Shoeboy says we need two divisions, so they cant really complain about having to play the top teams...they got a pretty sweet draw to get the confidence up leading into the tougher games. In the last 2 years our round 1 has been Townies and Valleys...massive losses both times to kick the season off. I think Aldinga had Cove and Morphies to start the season this year as well...

No I will say it again!!!! Where does Shoe boy say we need 2 divisions as YOU put it!!!

By the way I know this forum is for debate but I would of thought you would be more concerned of when will you win another game?

I am concerned about that...doesnt mean i cant talk about other things mate...called multitasking...

And i apologise if you dont believe we need two divisions...must've got you mixed up with someone else...makes sense too because Noarlunga would be in Div 2 anyway...

just face it, Noarlunga have a tough draw. Im not bagging your club, im just stating that it could be a bit of a rough lead up to finals, if the Shoes make finals that is...

I'm right with you on the early rounds situation HH3 --- hitting the Hawks and Sharks immediately with the Vikings and Cobras is an absolute joke.
So is a side that missed the finals last year getting left with nothing but tough games from the halfway mark of the following year. Surely they can work it out much better than that.

How does it make a difference? they have to play them all eventually...and getting them all at the end of the season where there are going to be more injuries and what not can only be a good thing...i think they would rather that then start the year off with M/V, Brighton, Reynella all at top fitness from preseason and with a full strength list...how bad would morale be at the half way point in the season...

Any comp that has to "design" a season fixture to be mindful of certain teams morale at the half way mark seems ridiculous...

Thats what i mean. Every team has to play to a fixture, and some teams may seem hard done by but we have to deal with it.

All this thread is about is to see if people think Noarlunga will win a game in between now and the end of the minor round...i think no, but they may beat Porties or Flaggies...

They have to play Porties, Flaggies, Valleys and Reynella twice...Porties and Flaggies were around the same mark as them last season...as for the other two, they might be a bit harsh...but we have to play the cards we're dealt...we had to play Townies twice in 2009, but only played Lonsdale, Marion and Morphy parks once, even though they are more closely matched to us (still way better, but closer than a Div 3 Saafl side)...

I say with the Silver Fox (Michael Jones) dominating at CHF they will win their fair share
