the 97 PF, A's or B's? I was in the 2's for Glencoe in the finals so wasn't required in the PF after we beat Tant at Kongarong in the 2nd semi.

Hey Hazbeen i would of played against u then as i was there in 98 & 99 when Barney was coaching before he took over they were in trouble as all u boys were thumping them by 40+ goals week in week out but towards the end of the 98 season we got competitive & cut loosing margains to the 4-5 goal mark, i was only 18 yrs old back then & it was my first taste of senior footy & managed to hold Scott Bevan from Mt.Burr goaless in the last round.
In 99 i broke my colarbone in the 1st game against u Glencoe boys after a dirty behind the play & off the ball clash with John Jolly who at that stage i managed to keep to 2 goals, after half time we ended up getting pumped & he kicked a bag of 10 i think.
Me & a mate coached their junior colts & managed to get a win on the board over Kalanadoo which was the clubs 1st win for a long time which was a good feeling.
Quit footy after that & moved away but took it up again at the end of 06 after a long time away from the game in the SAAFL with the Mighty Fitzroy Lions who won an A grade premiership last year & this year i am B grade captain.

Round 8 tips

Glencoe vs Tantanoola

1st vs 3rd, have to go with the top side the Mighty Murphies at home in a close one

Hatherleigh vs Pt Macdonnell

2nd placed Eagles to flog the 7th placed Demons making the long trip from the seaside

Nangwarry vs Robe

4th placed Saints to be too strong for the 8th placed Roosters at home

Mt Burr vs Kalangadoo

5th placed Mossies will continue the misery for the wooden spoon favourite Magpies.

All the home teams to win this week.

Looks like Glencoe would be warm favourites for the flag again this year, would you agree Hazbeen. They look to have maintained/improved their form from last year, whilst clubs such as Tant and Hatherleigh have gone a bit backwards.

The club thats surprised me has been Robe, i thought they'd be a lot more competitive than they have been so far this year.

Yes the Murphies look the goods again this year, the addition of Matty Sinkunas with his bigger body and SANFl experience will certainly help them to stay on top.

Final 4 to be Glencoe, Hatherleigh, Tantanoola and either of Mt Burr or Nangwarry.

Robe, Kongarong and Pt Mac well off the pace and Kalangadoo simply terrible.

I heard Tant's player/coach was the victim of an alleged unsavoury incident in the game against Glencoe on the weekend. Will be interesting to see what the outcome is when it goes to the tribunal next week (no games this weekend).
