That was the case before he joined LIV, saw a good article comparing Adam Scott to Cam Smith, Adam Scott makes more from 1 sponsorship/endorsement on the PGA tour than Cam does on his LIV payment.

IMO Cam isn't a great golfer, good yes, and had a good run where his short game got him to be one of the best for a while, but off the tee and iron play isn't world class.
