And if your rating our team on Bejing Olympics Diving Gold Medalist Kym Evans, you're selling us a bit short mate. Well some of the crap we have to put up with from other clubs really hurts morale sometimes. Eg. Hearing "Dont worry boys, theyre just scum" at half time from a Porties player in Rd 18. But we know clubs like Aldinga and Lonsdale will never bag us because they are or have been in the same boat. And from a "discussion" I had with Wineflyonthewall today, I think his name will be changed to Wineflyontheground in Rd 17 2009.
haha good work bud!!
but does that mean you know the fixture for next season?? whered ya get that from?

well the teams we play twice dont really reflect how 2008 panned out. We kicked our highest score against MV/P at MV/P yet we only play them once again ....at MV/P....Townies twice including Rd 1....and other stuff that i wont go into...but you get the idea....seems a but strange to accommodate for a Div 2 team over a struggling team that would at least be Div 7 or 8 in SAAFL

mate, wouldnt surprise me if townies played a few of the bottom clubs twice. probably a part of the bull$h!t deal the SFL made with them to get them into the league

yeah it looks that way...dont even know what the big deal about getting them into the SFL is. We already had a big league. Now we have to have a bye and pretty much hand a finals spot to them. Are the finals still gonna be top 8 still?

i am not complaining by any means but it would have been a bit better to see someone like a brighton or reynella play e/town first round. we have to play them I know but would rather have a closer hit out in the 1st game than e/town. are they playing any SFL clubs in the pre season????

It won't happen asert.
The only divisions that the SFL have in mind are north and south.
They want more teams from down the hill for a northern division.

thats sh1t they need it. people like hackham will recruit so much easier and improve by not getting 6 60+ goal losses in a row. will make it easier for the premiership table also porties won the minor premiership but only cos of the percentage boost of who they only played and emus played everyone hard twice and changed who and where they played finals.

Mate there was only one 60 goal loss in 2008 and that was the week our dickhead "coach" quit against Brighton and hardly any players expected the game to go ahead so many players played two games, some juniors played up in the Bs and As. The rest of the year were 30 or under. Now I realise thats a massive margin still but even AFL teams dont plan to go from crap to finals contenders straight away. We at least halved the scores from 2007, so if that happens again in 09 it will be 15 goal loses, then in 2010 7 goals 3, and so on. We know its going to be a hard slog but now we have a decent coach. If we had two divisions we would only improve to the standard of the bottom half of the current teams. If we play against the best opposition we can, we will improve hopefully to their level.

Does any1 else see the exact same problem with 2 divs?
I mean I assume that it would go something like - winner of lower div flag takes the spot of spooner in higher div but surely this would only benefit the same teams (obviously with a few variations over time)
Not sayin I'm right but does this actually happen in other leagues?

in the ammos it does, spend 3 yrs building a club up from bottom, win the flag, go up a divvy, then finish bottom 2 again

what happens is the best team goes up, usually only to come straight back down the next year. Because they havent had enough games against the best teams.

or get a few more teams and everyone once only. doesnt need to be a relegation system it never used to be and worked fine
