Good entertaining game of footy, Bays had to dig deep, as champion sides can and do. Mouthwatering 2nd Semi matchup

Great win, most teams would have given up against that mob, quite clear one team wanted it a touch more when it mattered.

Good win for Glenelg. Gee it looked like a tough slog out there in time-on.

Not sure about that mate both teams were desperate in the last 5 minutes and the Bays class forward of the ball proved the difference, a cop out to suggest the endeavor shown by one side was more than the other.Dutchy wrote:Great win, most teams would have given up against that mob, quite clear one team wanted it a touch more when it mattered.

Yep agree, you can't possibly say the Crows players were not giving 100% at the end. I know from inside the club they are desperate to win an SANFL flag and thought this year was the one. Their job just got so much harder now having to win three finals in a row. Think they account for Norwood this week but then getting past Glenelg or Sturt in Prelim be tough.Booney wrote:Not sure about that mate both teams were desperate in the last 5 minutes and the Bays class forward of the ball proved the difference, a cop out to suggest the endeavor shown by one side was more than the other.Dutchy wrote:Great win, most teams would have given up against that mob, quite clear one team wanted it a touch more when it mattered.

What he said …dedja wrote:
That said, despite a somewhat indifferent lead up to the finals, with injuries and mixed form, the Bays are more than good enough to deal with this opposition if switched on. Don’t care if the margin is 1 or 238, just get the job done.
Some might argue that the Bays were ‘lucky’ in the end by somehow pulling a win when the game was seemingly lost, which is fair, but that said, had squandered many, many opportunities which could have put them in a comfortable position in the last to not require the heroics.
The Crows were way more efficient up forward, and early on caught the Bays defence out on more than a few occasions for easy goals. That dried up after half time, especially in the last.
Far play to both teams for an all out effort in less than ideal conditions. Did the Bays edge out the opposition in effort and will when it mattered? The result may suggest so, but I think Dutchy was just highlighting that rather than suggesting that the Crows didn’t give 100%
To say that the Bays were just that edge more desperate seemed accurate to me.
Dunno, I’m just an idiot.

Inside 50’s were 62-37, would’ve been criminal if we’d lost. Plenty of belief in this group still and in the end a bit more poise with the ball. I thought that was Nick Stevens’ best game since coming to the club. Proud, Allen, Scharenberg all excellent too.
Very odd the amount of Norwood supporters that hung around and barracked hard for the crowserves…

So how's them Bays, hey?
Any more on the Crows fan who allegedly uttered something over the fence that may or may not have seen him escorted from the stadium???

Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Agree for most of the game the Crows intent was very good, but I saw some contests in the last few minutes that weren't necessarily SANFL standard.Booney wrote:Not sure about that mate both teams were desperate in the last 5 minutes and the Bays class forward of the ball proved the difference, a cop out to suggest the endeavor shown by one side was more than the other.Dutchy wrote:Great win, most teams would have given up against that mob, quite clear one team wanted it a touch more when it mattered.

It was an excellent game of footy to watch and of very high standard considering the conditions.

Crows fan booted from SANFL match at Adelaide Oval after using homophobic slur towards Glenelg Captain Liam McBean
Fresh footy controversy after a fan's homophobic abuse marred what should have been Glenelg captain Liam McBean's celebratory 150th game milestone.
A spectator has been kicked out of Adelaide Oval after hurling homophobic abuse at Glenelg captain Liam McBean during his milestone 150th SANFL game.
The three-time premiership hero was targeted by a spectator during the second-quarter of Saturday’s clash against the Crows.
The Advertiser understands that the spectator, who hasn’t been identified, used the same slur Izak Rankine used against a Collingwood player, earning him a four-week ban last fortnight.
A video from the match shows McBean pointing to the Member’s Stand in response to the slur.
The spectator was kicked out of the grounds after the incident was reported to security by a boundary umpire who overheard the abuse.
McBean told 7News he was shocked to hear the slur and was thankful for the venue’s quick response.
“It’s not something that you expect to hear coming over the fence,” he said.
“Clearly sport is something that brings people together and it’s an inclusive environment.
“Hopefully with the quick actions that took place afterwards there will be a bit of an investigation to follow and hopefully there will be some further education.”
In a statement to 7News, Adelaide Oval management said any person who breaches the venue’s code of conduct would be evicted.
“Patrons found to be in breach may be referred to SAPOL for identification, evicted from the venue and/or subsequently banned from the stadium,” a spokesperson said.
While the spectator isn’t a Crows member, the incident has raised concerns about similar behaviour at Thursday night’s match against Collingwood.
McBean will lead Glenelg against Sturt in the second semi-final on Sunday.
Dunno, I’m just an idiot.

Was definitely none of that in our area. We stayed until halftime and were barracking hard for the Bays as were most Norwood folk around us to the point a few Ravens players and supporters were getting some very forthright adviceSpargo wrote: Very odd the amount of Norwood supporters that hung around and barracked hard for the crowserves…
