Should never have disbanded the NSL. Invite more clubs if needed be, but there was a solid base among some of the famous clubs from back in the day, ad without knowing all the behind the scenes details, seems as though developing the younger talent was better back in those days too.

Why’s that Wedgie? They’d only be competing with AFL, NRL and Super Rugby.

Scary part about it is I remember clear as day when it was changed over from Winter to Summer. Adelaide City's last game at Kensington was in the winter season then a couple of months later we were at Hindmarsh. Was the best thing to happen to the sport in this country.

Scrappy game but to be expected first game back. Be very surprised if we hold on to a spot in the 6 as we have a pretty tough run home but you never know

I haven't watched a lot of A League since the resumption, but what I have seen has been quite good. I'm sure the players enjoy playing in cooler conditions. Surely they will seriously look at returning our A League season to winter where players don't have to battle oppressive heat during games.

United trailed City 2-0 but the game turned on its head City were reduced to 10 men with about 20 minutes to go. United attacked one waves and stole a 2-2 draw in injury time and even had more chances to win. Unfortunately I’d say that is season over now as the damage was done before the season was suspended

United managing to miss the finals shows just how badly Verbeek managed the club. No way in the world should that squad have finished 7th out of 11. At least they sort of turned it around under Veart.

Anyway, semi finals today:

Melbourne City v Western (4.30 p.m.)
Sydney v Perth (7.40 p.m.)

Sydney have fallen away since the shutdown so, on form, I'd expect the winner of the early game to start favourites for the Grand Final (Sunday 6 p.m.)

So it's Sydney v Melbourne City in the Grand Final on Sunday.

A limited size crowd will be allowed in, so no doubt Melbourne City will feel right at home.

So Sydney win the A-League Championship with a 1-0 win in extra time, lifting the trophy at the home ground of their rivals, Western Sydney.

The long wait for the scheduled December start to the next season commences after the FFA Cup for 2020 was cancelled.

The new Macarthur Bulls outfit will make their debut next season.
