Kevin Kitto Norwood
Was this one "Kevin" for sure?
I remember that some time in the late 50s or early 60s there was a country boy named Klinton Kitto - I think he may have come from York Peninsula.

It would have been named by LEGS 11 I'd imagine - but he hasn't been on here in over two years.

John Moody Norwood
AH or anyone else know how many games he played. From memory, I think he was an army Captain based in SA and had to quit after an impact caused him to lose one kidney.

According to "Red and Blue Blooded" he played one game in 1958.

Again according to "Red and Blue Blooded" R.K Kitto played 4 games in 1960.

The name is Klynton Kitto. According to Ron Kneebone he should have played a lot more league footy. I think he was from the Yorke Peninsula somewhere. Wore the Number 28 which wasn't so famous in those days

Played 4 games, kicked 2 goals.

This is a great thread and its fascinating looking through all the names from the past. One of the names on the list is an uncle of mine by marriage on my mother's side - Darcy Rohrig from North Adelaide. Darcy is still alive and will turn 90 next year. Darcy came to Adelaide from Yorke Peninsula to attend University and after a season playing for Uni, went over to North. He played 8 league games over two seasons, 1938 and 1939. His first game was against Port at Alberton, playing as second rover, resting in a forward pocket next to Ken Farmer. After completing his studies, he purchased a pharmacy in Pt Pirie and played the rest of his footy up there.
Another uncle by marriage on my father's side is a guy called Ron Smith. I don't know if its the same Ron Smith listed for West Adelaide - I was unaware my uncle played league but my father told me he once kicked 18 goals for Westies in an U17 or U19 game.

If you go to the thread titled "One of the Oldest" Mark Beswick has his career as 1940-41. So, he may need to be corrected if that's the case.

You might want to check the christian name of G. Bamber - I think you have Greg or Geoff which is incorrect - I believe it is the member of Grange Golf Club - Grant
And Mark, I agree with your statement - Another problem is some clubs included a 19th man while other clubs didn't.
Grant Bamber - old Kings boy - his brother Mark won the A1 medal in 76
Amazing stuff - you even have John Moody who only ever played 1 game for Norwood - Don Lindner crashed into his back and he lost a kidney

He's on the list, probably those who made their debut this year aren't, cause I'm slack.

They are in the 2008 debutants list however.
Jacques played 6 games in 2007, kicking 4 goals and 1 behind.

Got one for you. Trevor Rieken. He was a South Adelaide league player in the 1920's who also played for Bute. He played in the 1928 Grand Final between Bute and Mundoora. Bute won but Mundoora protested to the SANFL cos supposedly Mr Rieken didn't have a clearance. SANFL ruled that Bute be disqualified but also found that only Bute was affiliated with the league so every other clubs matches for the season didn't count. Final decision was no matches were counted so no premiership for the season!

And was favourite for the Stawell Gift one year. I reckon that it was in 1965, but I can't be sure. He certainly didn't win

Spelly, I am seeking a games tally for Arthur Hannaford who played for Glenelg.
He had a brief stint with them in 1937-38 and then returned to the country and after WWII resumed his league career with Glenelg.

I can't help you on that, but anyone with a copy of "Pride of the Bay" will.

I've only got individual games tallies on every club since 2005; and Sturt, Port, Norwood and Torrens along with the current Eagles for all time.

Out of interest, I do know he polled a total of 8 Magarey Medal votes - 2 in 1947 and 3 each in 1948 and 1949.
