Re: Marathon/Half Marathon Running
15km run yesterday in Belair NP...longest since the 105km race. Been having some calf issues since the race that hasn't settled but feeling back to normal again. Looking forward to ramping up the distance again

Nuts, have heard there is a bike trail between those 2 towns now, presume it followed that, did they sleep???

I did the 53km distance at the same event this year and definitely didn't come 2nd! Just looked him up, cracking time and not much longer than mine

Furthest I had run before was 19.5Km a couple of weeks ago so knew the distance should be ok and just wanted to break 2 hours.
Well I finished at 1:51:08, I knew I was tracking pretty well as my split times were really good but was still shocked that my time was that good.
I am in a world of hurt tonight though. Knees, hammies and a nice blister on one of my toes, which has come as a surprise.
Was good fun and am looking at doing another couple in the rest of the year…

Really enjoyed the majority of it, was certainly feeling the pinch going up Black Hill towards the end. Very well organised event with a different vibe to any road/city events I’ve done. Some the times recorded for the 56K are insane, especially given it was quite a warm day.
Does anybody have any events coming up?

No, nothing in the short term MW. Cricket season takes over now, which sees sore joints being nursed, and an increase in beer/pub food consumption.![]()
Will aim to do the 5 Peaks (26km) in April if can maintain a reasonable fitness base until then.
I've hiked the vast majority of the Heysen from Cape Jervis through to the Barossa over the years, so perhaps down the track might look at that event. 105km...jesus. How long did that take you?

Good stuff, how’d she go? Hopefully got through it all with minimal pain!amber_fluid wrote:Rams52 wrote:Anyone run in the Adelaide Marathon festival this morning? 5k, 10k, half, or full?
The wife did the full marathon
It was her first full marathon as she normally does the 21km half marathon
