It's official the 36ers have announced the signing of second import Jarell Martin to a one-year deal completing their roster. The 6'10" PF returns to the NBL previously playing a couple of seasons with the Sydney Kings where he was a large part of the Kings 2022 championship team. The former first-round draft pick spent four years in the NBA with the Memphis Grizzlies and Orlando Magic and played in Turkey last season although he is coming off a knee injury.

Surely they promised Wells the gig before he came out, waited for most season tickets to sell out and then do the old switcheroo.
I've lost interest in the season a month before it starts!

“The Club will make a full statement in due course including potentially a new role within the club for Ninnis.”

Hopefully he tells them to GAGFd

Ludicrous but typical stuff for the 36ers owner. A month before the season starts, just unbelievable.

Supposedly Ninnis was pissed that his buddy Graham Kubank wasn't retained as an assistant coach and instead the owner hired two new assistants from the US and Serbia.

https://nbl.com.au/news/ninnis-released-as-36ers-coach

Mike Wells the new coach.

I’m not a fan but something must have happened here?
Was it mutual?
I guess we’ll find out in due course

Pretty strong press conference, not delivering high enough standards

Do it now or give Scott a chance any be 3-7?

To me sounds like they have made a correct call if he wasn’t meeting their standards

Should not have been given the position in the first place and the new GM came in, set standards and they weren’t met. Wasn’t any good the first stint at coaching. Reports he didn’t get his request of Kubank as Gozu said but surely those bought in are of higher standard than him?

Does anyone think he did a great job last season? Went 8-7.

If the club just allowed a “club legend” take them down the same as the past 15 years we get the same result. Finishing closer to last than first.

Not followed this closely but what standards was Ninnis reportedly not meeting?
