Stumps and its all the SFricans

2/209

Markram 102*
Bavuma 65*

69 to win, they wont stuff this up

The beginning of the end of test dominance for Australia one feels, time to move a few on

Smith injured, compound fracture of a finger from when he dropped Bavuma, they are saying a substantial time out the game

It is South Africa though, anything could happen, but agree with the sentiment, it has to be the wake up call, our bowlers have been saving the batsman for far too long. But nothing will change, they will stick to being conservative with the Ashes coming up. Head, Green, Carey and Webster should be the only batsmen retained for the Windies and Ashes. Inglis, Konstas and Smith if fit the other 3
If Marnus plays again i wont watch cricket again until he is gone. Listening to Hayden go on and on about how important fielding is and what a great catch it was to dismiss Mulder in the 2nd innings was embarrassing. It was a regulation catch straight to him at cover, didnt have to move.

Surely Inglis has to play in the WI? Ton on debut and been in good form for a while.

If it gets Marnus out of the team I’m all for it.
He’s not really a top order batter though but could bat 4 or 6 if they persist with Green at 3.

Konstas
Usman (will make bulk runs on windies wickets)
Green
Inglis
Head
Webster

Figured that would be the 6 for WI with Smith out. Green deserves a chance at 3 not just a one off

Markram's hundred is his third in the forth innings, one less than Graeme Smith who has the most for SA. Markram is the first South African to score a forth innings hundred at Lord's and the first overseas batter to do so since Michael Clarke in 2009.

Green is a number 4 at best

I have a bad feeling they will put Carey as opener and play Inglis as the keeper

Carey can’t play as a batter.
He’s not good enough

Whatever happens tonight, I hope Khawaja is never selected again, and Marnus is not picked again until he makes runs in the Shield.

Carey is better than Green who is the most over rated player in the history of the game !!!!
Carey averages 35 batting 7
If he played just as a specialist batsman in the top 6 he'd average in the 40s easily especially he he chose to play the reverse sweep more wisely

Labuschagne should be around for the next 5 years because despite the slump he's been in he's still better than those talked about to replace him

Bit crazy to think that SA will be World Test Champions yet dont have a single player that averages above 40 with the bat

Probably that shows how tough batters are having it these days as pitches in recent years are being prepared a lot more bowler friendly. !

Been out 6 times in test cricket to the reverse sweep 2nd on the list, I rate him highly as a batsman but needs to shelve that shot in test cricket ;)

A good old South African choke would be great right about now. :)

Nah then it would just sugarcoat the inadequacies of the Australian Team

Trying everything to desperately get a breakthrough, SA too good with the bat though with Markram playing the innings of his life, no choking today from them!
