United ease past the Mariners 3-1
Had a 2-0 lead but nerves a bit twitchy I’d imagine when they pulled one back with around 20 to go. Game was put to bed in injury time

Bit harsh there I reckon Jim but yes the Reds will need to be far better with that final ball on Sunday.

They were terrible. Ball control was woeful and couldn’t hit a pass to save themselves. Disappointing that they created almost nothing and it took almost 70 minutes for the first shot on goal.
Very, very lucky to get out of that 0-0 and will need to be far better in Melbourne

Do they need to win or will a score draw do?

I don't think away goals are a thing. Need to win.

Awesome scenes for Western United and John Aloisi. Haven't even got a home yet!
Hopefully an all Melbourne GF but if AU made it they'd probably have more fans in Melbourne for the GF than Western!

Good chance the grand final doesn't sell out regardless of who wins tomorrow.

15 minutes away from winning and give up a soft goal to go to
ET

And then give up a even softer goal a minute into ET

The most embarrassing and pathetic ET period you will ever see by a side.
United should hang their head in shame at how piss weak they were

Some ordinary defending today and we go out. Still, when you consider the money City spend on players, their charter jet etc. and the fact we play so many young players, we did well to get that close.

The only positive I can find from today is that there are two Melbourne teams in the grand final and neither of them are the Victory!

So Western win the championship in their third season. Alexander Prijovic wins the Joe Marston Medal. City just no good in the big games.

Why are Semi Finals two games yet the Grand Final one?

Because two-legged finals suck.
