We have been ordinary for a while
I don’t follow the lower levels as closely as others but where do you think the blame lies for this

Junior participation rate is declining in key Rugby areas, talent identification is poor and Rugby suffers from still being thought of as game for toffs and private school elitists so has struggled to attract kids from other demographics. I know in NSW for instance all colleges and schools had Union as their major sport a couple decades ago, now Aussie rules and soccer is dominating. The AFL is winning their war against the other codes. Another thing I hear constantly is that a lot of the Pacific island kids develop a lot younger and so in underage comps the smaller kids get hurt or can’t match it with them so they turn to soccer or AFL.

England and France cancelled due to the Typhoon. First ever world cup match to be cancelled, will be recorded as a nil all draw.
I'm not sure why they just didn't just move games to the North when the typhoon was forming.

Help out us too as they will get less time before playing us in the Quarterfinals

Re: Rugby Union World Cup
How was some of the ball retention through the phases by Japan in the 2nd half yesterday against Scotland?
Wallabies could take a leaf out of there book.

How frenetic was the start of that match and didn't really relent at all.am Bays wrote:How was some of the ball retention through the phases by Japan in the 2nd half yesterday against Scotland?

Sick of this league style kicking away after 2 phases: lazy play

Shit, just utter shit. We're treading water as a rugby nation whilst everyone else is swimming with a rocket up their arse.

Re: Rugby Union World Cup
Was at a party last night and talking to a lock from Old Cols
He was saying the same thing: a lot of other nations are developing whilst we just seem to stand still
At least we didn’t kick it away every time. I almost threw a tinnie at the TV when Beale just kicked it to them.
Anyone else notice how flat we were standing. It was like every pass was given 1-2m before the defence. Very difficult to penetrate with such a short run up and getting hit as soon as you get the ball.
Maybe we should import some Japanese players so we can get some flair back into our game!
I’d rather watch the blossoms than any other team at the moment

16 of Japan’s current squad are imports.
Our players are better than what our results show. Poorly coached and managed IMO

Wales beat France 20-19. Missed the game but sounds like the frogs got the rough end of the pineapple from the ref.
