Burra leaving to join Stanley.

NACA now a 7-team comp which isn't ideal given Bundaleer are a year-to-year proposition and Pekina rely very heavily on the Bowman family.

Why are Burra leaving?

Believe its purely location, most games will be south of Burra closer to Adelaide which means it will be easier to get Adelaide based locals to come up and have a hit.

hahah Love it.

If rumors are true, no Boh Wall and no Sam Mattey. If true not sure how competitive they will be in Stanley A Grade.

His now living half an our north of Yunta, focusing on his sheep work i believe.

Would be surprised if he doesn't bob up somewhere for the occasional hit. Maybe at Spalding/Boob when they play games north given, he played a couple of years of footy with BSR during the covid period and is good mates with the lads.

Had the pleasure of attending the Booleroo/Willowie premierships re-union on Saturday night. B/W were playing Carrieton/Pekina at Booleroo Town Oval and there was a function afterwards in the clubrooms. Premierships from 1975/76 onwards were celebrated in a fantastic event arranged and hosted by Paul Arthur and Jordan Arthur. It was humbling to be in the presence of such luminaries as Trevor and Graham Arthur, Phil and Jamie Koch, Lindsay and Trevor Hitch, Brenton Badenoch, Grant McCallum, Gary Gum, Greg Fiebig, Wayne McCallum and a host of others. A crowd of well over 100 attended. Each premiership season was covered with highlights of players' performances and many tall stories told.
The club may be struggling at present but with its proud history, dedicated helpers and a crop of promising juniors coming through, better times are hopefully ahead. Here's to the next re-union! By the way, B/W won the game!

Yeah all very proud cricket clubs up North, battling their arses off to survive but so much passion for the game.

Glad the lads could get the win on a special day in whats been a tough year for them.

Totally agree. It had been 35 years since I'd last played for Booleroo but I was welcomed back like a lost son and warmly embraced. It was amazing how quickly friendships were picked up again and a lot of lost ground over 35 years was made up. There is something special about the camaraderie in a country cricket club, possibly due to the isolation and long trips to opposition clubs that form special bonds. Returning to Adelaide and playing for my local club was good but didn't match what I experienced at Booleroo. Long may the Demons continue!
