Not any more.
Russian billionaire owns them now but Lowy, Gallop etc are all Sydney centric.

I’m with wedgie here, even though the kid was a little shit and clearly knew what he was going, that’s still no excuse for marone to make contact like he did. Should have been looking at the ref instead and making sure he added on the time.

Another good example of why time on would vastly improve soccer - all of these time wasting efforts would be for nothing.

"We would have sold it out", how could you possibly say that when not even 9000 go to games?

How can you possibly say that the FFA cup final would be exactly the same as a random minor round game - when previous history has shown otherwise?

They would’ve packed Hindmarsh for a Cup Final, easily.

Sydney played Newcastle last week and got 11,000. For the final they got 13,500...it's reasonable to suggest the Adelaide crowd might have gone up a few thousand from their normal crowds too...9000>12,000 or so.

They're jumping off quicker than a rat on a sinking ship and you're telling me Hindmarsh would have been sold out?

Like the SANFL drawing only a few hearty supporters to grounds all year and then amazingly getting 30k plus to the GF?
A Final at Hindmarsh would of been sold out purely because it’s a final

People in SA love a final, only have to look at the turn out for a home Shield final when normally only the players friends and family would be in attendance

Aww **** please! You make it sound like this is some 6yo kid whose been randomly attacked and beaten.

He would be a teenager, he would be well aware of his responsibilities and duties as ball boy

He's ten years old.

For me the kid knows he did the wrong thing. It's not hard to throw the ball back. That's not the part that's the issue, he's a little shit and kids make bad choices. That's life and Marrone hardly assaulted or attacked him. He just wanted the ball.

Putting him up there and giving him a medal, holding the cup up and being paraded around like a hero is the issue and it's a disgrace. The kid did the wrong thing and then the league goes glorifying it. It rubs shit in the face of Adelaide United and I still can not believe that occurred after the match.

FFS the 10 year old kid froze when an adult attacked him, good on the Sydney players for trying to cheer him up as it would have been extremely disturbing for the poor little bugger. And good on Matt Simon for trying to protect the 10 year old, I would have done exactly the same thing.
Good to see everyone on Channel 9 agreed with my point of view this morning who have nothing to do with the A League even Queenslanders.
I honestly can't believe how blinkered some people are virtually condoning violence against a 10 year old.

Kid was a little shit and knew what he was doing

A player has no right to touch an official though and in particular a child/teen

Player has to be suspended if only on the basis he manhandled an official (you have to let the ref deal with it and not take it into your own hands)

Kid needs to be told thanks but no thanks, plenty of other kids will do that role responsibly

The player should get a couple of games. It was a pretty stupid thing to do from an experienced player, although it's not as if he kicked the kid like Hazard, he just came in way too hard to try and steal the ball.

However the fact that Marrone did the wrong thing doesn't mean that the kid is in the clear.

The kid should not be glorified in any way let alone given a medal. How is it fair that this one kid who does the wrong thing (and knew what he was doing) gets a medal, while the other 999 ballboys in the A-League/FFA Cup this season, who actually do their job, don't get a medal? Disgraceful that blatant cheating is rewarded. Would be outraged if United gave a kid a medal in circumstances such as these.

Agree with all of that.
And...why is no one condemning Simon's actions? He launched at Marrone, stomped over the kid and precipitated a melee around him where anything could have happened. If we're worried about the kid, his actions should also be in question.
